In analyzing the baseline characteristics of participants, those with higher TTR were younger, more likely to be men, and less likely
to have a history of ASCVD. The authors found that after adjustment of baseline demographics, medical history, and mean SBP, a
1-standard deviation (31.5%) increase in TTR was independently associated with a 14% lower risk of probable dementia (hazard

was no significant association between SBP-TTR and mild
cognitive impairment. A consistent trend was found for a lower
risk of probable dementia associated with higher TTR.
The authors concluded that SBP-TTR was an independent
predictor of probable dementia beyond mean SBP. Maintaining
SBP within 110 to 140 mmHg over time may be beneficial for
dementia prevention. As a novel monitoring metric of blood
pressure control, time in target range could independently
